The bad news: a dozen things could be to blame. The good news: many are easy to fix yourself. To complete this How-To you will need: Batteries for your remote control Your owner’s manual A wet cloth An electrician (optional) Warning: Working with electricity is very dangerous — be extremely careful and, if you have any doubts, contact a professional. Step 1: Check plug See if the opener‘s cord is plugged into a working outlet. Of course it’s a “duh” — but it’s also the most common reason electric garage doors don’t open. Step 2: See if lock is on Now check the second most-common stupid reason that an electric garage door won’t open—the owner inadvertently activated the “lock” feature. Many people aren’t even aware of this feature—consult your owner’s manual. Step 3: Turn off and on Try unplugging the garage door opener and then plugging it in again; this sometimes does the trick by resetting the sensors. Step 4: Try new batteries See if dead batteries in your remote Garage Doors [25C3]” href=”http://doorgaragerepair.com/messing-around-with-garage-doors-25c3/”>control opener are the problem. of St. Louis (636) 208-8856
yeah make sure ur spring aint broke n that door dont smash ur brains in either when u unhook it
how do you fix it once you pull down the red thingy i push the button then it wont catch on the thing or something
@tonkinlost You are right, and they will probably remove all that glass and wrinkle the bottom panel or two.
You don’t call an electrician to fix a garage door opener. You call a garage door company.
@TheCarsonWilliams HELL YEAH dude, mine wont work now. how’d u fix it?
If the little spring is expanded above the red rope, lightly jerk the rope in the opposite direction one time and you will hear a click. Now press the remote. Some times u may need to jiggle the “j-arm” that connects the motor to the door while pressing the remote. It’s not a perfect design.
Hello,
It for Wayne Dalton Classic Drive model 3016.
How to fix problem garage won’t open or close? Each remote/wall button are both working but the belt is not rotate, why?
thanks you
You don’t call an electrician when your garage door opener doesn’t work you fucking noob. A professional garage door tech is who you call to fix it. Just like I wouldn’t call a deck builder to change the transmission in my car. You suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wayne Dalton garage door openers are VERY problematic. Where one problem lies, another is probably somewhere else. Since WD openers are so problematic, I’d recommend replacing the unit with a Chamberlain or LiftMaster. DO NOT go with Genie or another Wayne Dalton. LiftMaster is made by Chamberlain, and chamberlain products are ranked number one. Chamberlain is the do-it-yourself section, while LiftMaster is proffessional. Go with LM, the rail is much better and different than Chamberlain’s.
