Not every opener has a switch on the rail for the open/close limits liftmaster chamberlain craftsman and accessmaster have it built in to the motor unit.

This guy doesn’t know much. Learn more by reading the owners manual for your unit. Wd-40 is also not a good lubricant.
Two to three months is a little overkill. Once a year is plenty. I am a thirty year Door tech
