Home Improvement & Maintenance Tips : How to Fix Garage-Door Tension
by admin on Saturday, December 11th, 2010 | 18 Comments
Fixing a garage-door tension requires lifting the door in its full upright position, clamping down the springs to keep them in place and adjusting the tension spray as needed. Make sure a garage door can stay in place when halfway up withadvice from a licensed remodeling contractor in this free video on home maintenance. Thx
did ‘expert village’ consult a pro before doing this?… I am guessing not….
He is a fucking idiot.
how do you expect people to learn n e thing on a video like this im a garage door tech and only thing that that explained is how to get people hurt and we have to go out and fix their screw ups
This is NOT the correct way to adjust a garage door. Why would you give people incorrect information?
I own a garage door company and am disgusted to see something like this on the web. This is exactly how people get hurt and is an untrue representation of a garage door expert. DO NOT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO – CONSULT YOUR OWNERS MANUAL OR CALL YOUR LOCAL PRO
Dit is dus hoe het niet moet. Met de juiste spanijzers de veren bij spannen aan de zo genoemde spandop, dat is hoe het hoort, Laat dit wel door een profesioneel bedrijf doen bel NL 0800 0247365
With the door in the up right position, how do you get to the set screws? The door is blocking them
PLEASE DONT FOLLOW THIS VID HE REALLY DOESNT KNOW WHAT HES TALKING ABOUT HES UST GOING TO GET U HURT OR KILLED………i am speaking as a “garage door installer” for 6 years
ok so called EXPERTS why don’t you post a video on HOW ITS DONE RIGHT then
up to the challenge ???
this is unbeleavable if this guy did what he said he was to do all that wold happen is the whole sysetm would come un sprung and he would have to call a pro like me thats been doing this for 15 years
This obviously is a very misleading video. i will add one more language to spread the word.
这个片段解释了原理,但无法安全操作,所以请勿模仿。 NO! 绝不!
I’ve been installing and servicing overhead doors for a long time now.
This guy is a fool.
I’d love to see this method performed on a door 16ft tall with 6 inch diameter torsion springs on it.
It looks like good old Tim is trying to get someone hurt. If one of my guys tried to do this on the job I would fire him. Very unsafe and it seems to be a long way around the barn.
its flippen torsion not tension springs. Are u for real??? This is so wrong
Tim ! please re-due this demo and make a follow up of how to add a half turn on those torsion springs. Noticed at marker 151 you almost put your fingers in the never never zone, especially while closing a dropping door, OUCH!
I am amazed this dude has all of his fingers… I am a door tech and this is NOT repeat NOT the way to do this..Consult a professional..or a physician. lol
Your post is very interesting. I’ve read your blog for few days now and I trully enjoy your blog. Thank you for your great work!
