Learn how to install electrical garage doors with tips such as attaching the head to the ceiling in this free online video lesson.

why not just use some real punch angel on this?
wow! yeah real punched angle would help for the vibration! this has to be the weakest installation ive seen ! the guy is not even using a impact ! and your gonna need atleast sume 3/8 lags to mount itto the 2×4 in the celieing
first of all if you are installing an opener by your self you should open the door all the way and clamp it open then slide your opener on to the top of the door go to the front and reach up and place the pin in now go to the back and measure your down distance with a level slightyly lower in the back and mount
WoW!!Iam in shock that this type of installation would even be considered or suggested. That glorfied folded plumbers tape should only be used as vertical bracing. Granted thats all they give you in the garage door opener kits. Best to use H.Duty punched angle, no lighter than 18Ga. 1-/14 X 1-1/4. for ceiling mount. And that garage door opener manufacture puts a lot in advertizment to tell you it’s what you want.. it’s NOT. It is just bell’s&whisels not a long lasting product! 42 years Experience
Please do us all a favor and take this video offline. Mount the op with real punched angle. EXPERT??? Village
That was horrible, u don’t want it to drop down but you twist that crappy angel that comes with it and use 1 lag lol okay…
Dude ger off his ass at least the opener isnt genie or overhead door

Guys….use slotted angles for this. that alluminum crap will fall…its not sturdy enough for this application. Do not follow these guys, they are morons.
mount is about as firm as a flaccid penis. i feel sorry for the people that have to use that contraption
